Speedgain for Databases 2.1.0 – More Stability, Security & Usability

We’re excited to announce the release of Speedgain for Databases 2.1.0!
This update focuses on reliability, security, and user experience, bringing a range of improvements to make the daily work of database administrators smoother and more efficient.

Here are the highlights of this release.

Db2 Enhancements

Our Db2 dashboards have been significantly expanded.
With improvements to SQL Inflight, Throughput, IO metrics, and Size Distribution, plus new Cluster Boards and extended support for DPF and Purescale environments, Speedgain offers even greater transparency for complex Db2 installations.

Collector Stability and Performance

Collectors are now more resilient and start faster, even when handling large data volumes. Improved error handling ensures greater reliability under all conditions.

Security Updates

This release includes the latest security patches and fixes a rare logging issue that could expose passwords in debug mode. Security remains our top priority.

Linux and Podman Improvements

We’ve refined our OS dashboards for clearer structure and better pagination.
Podman installations now feature systemd integration and logfile limits, offering more flexibility and reliability for your deployments.

TimescaleDB and PostgreSQL

We’ve improved TimescaleDB migration and added PostgreSQL 16 compatibility, ensuring a smoother upgrade path and broader support.

Frontend Usability

Several interface enhancements make Speedgain easier to use: better dropdown sorting and filtering, corrected bulk actions, and improved menu navigation and client settings.

REST API and Connection Pools

The REST API has been hardened for improved security and reliability.
Connection pools now automatically re-initialize after repeated errors, reducing the need for manual restarts.

Container Image Distribution

All container images are now also available as tar.gz archives for direct download.
Documentation links include all-in-one deployment packs for easier setup.

Conclusion: Worth the Upgrade

Speedgain for Databases 2.1.0 delivers stronger performance, enhanced security, and a smoother user experience.
We highly recommend upgrading to benefit from these improvements.
